Even more inspiring...

To all my Irish/Italian/Polish/Catholic peeps out there....

No I am not converting to Mormonism...I'm not even sure they'd want me as a member. Although I do sometimes wonder if a 52 year old woman with loads of  spiritual baggage, numerous regrets, and a good share of bad choices, can even try a whole new way of thinking.

Of course the answer would be yes.

But it's easy, and somewhat comfortable to remain within the religion we were born into. And Catholicism certainly has it's dark side...as do many other faiths.
"A la carte Catholics" seem to be growing in number, and I admit that I do pick and choose what to follow, and what to believe.

I spend quite a bit of time reading about other religions...Some call it "God-Shopping". I prefer to call it curious enlightenment...sounds better.
Some of my favorite blogs have given me a new perspective.
I've been reading NieNie as well as cJane and I was once again awed and inspired.

Forgiveness is something I've always struggled with.

It started when Brian O'Malley tripped me in Kindergarten and I spent the month of December with two black eyes, plotting my revenge...
And it continued yesterday when the Walgreens pharmacist didn't respond to my "Thank you, have a nice day". Wasn't he supposed to say that to me?

Ah yes, my backpack of grudges is getting very heavy.

And I really need to lighten it.

{Turn off my playlist at the bottom of the page...and watch this clip...first get some kleenex}

Mark 11:25
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

"I think [forgiveness] may be the greatest virtue on earth, and certainly the most needed. There is so much of meanness and abuse, of intolerance and hatred. There is so great a need for repentance and forgiveness. It is the great principle emphasized in all of scripture, both ancient and modern. Somehow forgiveness, with love and tolerance, accomplishes miracles that can happen in no other way."
--Gordon B. Hinckley, "Forgiveness," Ensign, Nov. 2005, 81

...seems there are some similarities in all religions.
