Mosaic Monday...The Love of a Sister

"Is solace anywhere more comforting than that in the arms of a sister?"

                                                        -Alice Walker

I was very blessed to have two boys followed by two girls. I still stand behind the phrase "Boys are easier"... but the moodiness of girls is nothing in comparison to the joy. Growing up I wished, prayed, and hoped for a sister. A sister to me was a forever friend, and when I look at my girls now that's exactly what they are. But growing up, my daughters were far from the loving friends they've become. There was plenty of door slamming, pushing, shrieking....
{.... and there was that time Maggie picked up her sister from school and purposely slammed on her brakes so Molly would spill her orange soda all over her white school uniform blouse...
Kinda funny now!}

  1. Hi, I love your Mosaic picture! I have 4 sons, well they're grown now and I have 6 grandchildren with the 7th on the way in June. Great pictures! Hope you have a wonderful rest of your evening.
    Hugs...

  2. Such a sweet mosaic! I only have one son and one daughter so neither had a same sex sibling. Maybe their children will? Happy MM!

  4. I have always longed for a sister. I had a brother, but God blessed me with two daughters. We had plenty of fights and they were harder to raise, but a constant source of joy. (Especially now that they are grown and having children!) Blessings,

  5. My mom was one of four girls, but I was the only daughter. I always wanted a sister, but have substituted great friends.
