Now what?!

Everyone told me I'd feel sad...and become weepy...and curl up in bed.

Every time I complained about the stress of planning a wedding, I was told I'd be melancholy when it was all over.
And I am. You were right. Thank you for the warnings.

Everything was perfect...well, I did forget to buy a unity candle.
My feet sprouted blisters after ten minutes in my new shoes.
Maggie had a bout of hyperventilation.
And I'm still trying to forget the guest that took a swim in the Chicago river. (Yes, that really happened, and all you Chicagoans know how awful that must have been.)

But everything was still perfect.

I'm just it possible to be sad and happy at the same time?
Because that's exactly how I feel.

(TeacherGirl and Colleen)

The newlyweds have taken my camera to Maui, so I am camera-less for awhile.
I'm hoping they capture some great moments.
I'm also hoping they don't get sand on it.

See you in July!

  1. Congratulations! She was a beautiful bride.

  2. Only natural. The bubble has to burst eventually, but another one will appear!

  3. I'll wait for it Jillsy!

    And Thank you Kim!

  4. You will find other things to occupy your time soon. For now, allow the feelings to be what they are.

The holiday season is not far off and now you have a bigger family to celebrate with!! Think of all those good things!

  5. Thanks gayle...your words are sweet, and very true,

  6. That is a lovely photograph - one of sheer happiness. And yes, it is possible to feel happy and sad at the same time - but it is a different kind of sadness.
