This is the only rose that has graced us with it's presence the entire year.

I should confess...
I never prune, water, or even glance at the rose bushes.
They're hiding in a lonely corner of the yard, and that's fine with me.
I never liked roses.
I know very little about roses.
My mother had roses and as a child all I remember is thorns, bugs, and more thorns.
I remember always being the one who had to retrieve a wayward volleyball from Mom's sea of thorny roses.

But this is looking rather lovely.
Maybe I'll learn to love them.
I'm getting rather soft in my old age.

"Don 't hurry. Don't worry. You're only here for a short visit.
So don't forget to stop and smell the roses."
